Mechanics: The action functions correctly. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good to Fine condition. The receiver and magazine show small light scrapes and discoloration from oxidation. The buttplate is scraped and shows surface erosion. Overall Condition: The front of the barrel and the nosecap show various scrapes, small scratches and some thinning. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition.īore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is deep. The LOP measures 13 ½ inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The wood shows some scrapes, a few light scratches and compression marks. Stock Configuration & Condition: The hardwood stock has a straight grip, finger grooves, two sling loops, a stacking loop, a barrel band and a metal buttplate with hinged door for storage. The sight is fully adjustable and is marked from “1 – 20” (see page 171). The rear sight is a Model 1902 Type 4, with a swing up aperture that takes the place of the “U” notch on the blade. Sights / Optics: The front sight is a pinned blade atop a raised base. The cap is hand fitted to the buttplate (see page29).
